Sefton Park, 2 Hagerman Street
A key component of festival programming is cultural presentations at places where Toronto workers gather. On Thursday April 28, Mayworks is proud to program spoken word poet Dave Silverberg who will perform as part of Toronto’s annual Day of Mourning ceremony. This is a day marked nationally to remember workers who have been killed or injured on the job over the last year while at work.
Organized by the Toronto and York Region Labour Council and the Workers Health and Safety Centre.
MAYWORKS IN THE SCHOOLS
Mayworks is working on the next installment of the Schools program! Stay tuned!
The Schools program brings professional artists into high schools in cooperation with the Equity Department of the Toronto and District School Board, with a focus on little known labour history and labour issues.
